At YMCA, we believe that every child should be given an equal opportunity to develop their interests and fulfil their potential.

Through our charity’s Scholarships scheme, we are proud to offer support for families who are unable pay full price for the following programmes: Camp Williams, Wollaton Holiday Club and YMCA Creative Academy (School Holidays).

Who qualifies for a scholarship place?

Scholarship places are for children who receive free school meals and to support families who might not be able to cover the whole cost of purchasing a place at YMCA day camps.

This scheme is designed to ensure every child has the opportunity to experience a week at our day camps, and will help towards funding your child’s place. Scholarship contributions are means-tested, and we will ask on your application how much you can contribute yourself. We welcome applications all year around, though we usually only offer scholarships for one week per child per year.

We believe a young person’s chance at building a fantastic future should not depend on their family’s wealth, social standing, gender or race – but rather on their passion and drive to grow in a safe, positive learning environment.

*Please note: The YMCA will review applications on a case-by-case basis and the success of scholarship applications may depend on the level of funding available.

How to qualify for a YMCA scholarship

YMCA awards scholarships on a case-by-case basis, and returning applicants should note that previous success does not guarantee that you will be awarded a new scholarship even if you meet at least one of the criteria outlined below.

Criteria:

  • In receipt of working tax credit
  • Your child receives free school meals

We usually only provide scholarships for one child, per week, per calendar year (*A calendar year is here classified as being from Easter camp to the following February half-term camp). However, we warmly welcome submissions as YMCA reviews applications on an individual basis and the success of a scholarship request may depend on the level of funding available for that particular camp.

How do I apply?
