Nottinghamshire YMCA is thrilled to welcome you to YMCA Childcare’s before and after school clubs!
Health and Safety
Our team have put a number of positive hygiene measures in place to keep children safe when they attend our clubs. We will be continually reviewing them throughout each term, in line with government guidelines and updates.
Our COVID-19 Safety Plan outline the actions and expectations of YMCA staff, parents and children. Please make sure you familiarise yourself with them before your child attends a session. Read our COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN here. If there are any updates to these measures, you will receive a notification email or call.

STEAM activities
At our Before and After School Clubs, we engage children in STEAM learning sessions.
STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process. These are the innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the next generation!
Children will take part in exciting and engaging activities and will have the opportunity to discuss what careers could be available within these fields. We want the children to see what is possible for themselves and what they could achieve in the future.

Volunteer with YMCA Childcare
We are always looking for volunteers to lead STEAM sessions. If you are a post-graduate student or have career experience in science, technology, engineering, arts or mathematics and are passionate about providing children with unique and exciting learning experiences, we would love to hear from you!
Core values
At the heart of all of our programmes for children and young people are our four core values – caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. These values run through everything that we do. Every week, we reward children for demonstrating them by handing out a ‘Core Values Award’ trophy and certificates.
