YMCA Newark & Sherwood has launched its Christmas holiday kids club – Camp Williams – which will be exclusively hosted for the first time at the new Community & Activity Village in Newark, with free transport to and from Nottingham.
Ofsted-registered Camp Williams will run on 28th, 29th and 30th December, as well as 3rd and 4th January 2023. It is open to 4-15 year-olds, with the option of both week-long and single day bookings. Scholarship places will also be available to support families who are eligible, helping them to meet the cost of a place at Camp Williams.
The Village is home to an Olympic-standard speed climbing wall – the largest in the region – giving Camp Williams attendees a unique opportunity to explore the new facility.
Alongside group activities, Campers aged 8 and over can choose their own range of skills clinics to progress in, including activities such as basketball, climbing, archery, performing arts, sports, crafts and skateboarding.
Campers based in Nottingham are offered a place on a free bus from the Emmanuel School to and from Newark, where YMCA Camp Leaders will be on-board.
Jen Openshaw, Camp Service Manager said: “Camp Williams is unlike any other school holiday programme. It is all about creating memories, friendships, skills and fun that will last a lifetime.
“Campers are placed in groups based on their interests, ages and personalities to ensure everyone gets the most out of their time here. Whether you join for a single day or for the full camp, we make sure all children feel like they are part of something special. We come together once a week at campfire, where parents and carers are invited to join us to see the new skills and achievements that attendees have learned and to experience the unique camp spirit for themselves.
“We know a lot of clubs are shut during the period between Christmas and New Year, which can be especially difficult for families who are trying to juggle work. Camp Williams offers kids a fun alternative and we aim to make it as affordable as possible for parents, supporting families through our Scholarship places. Just speak to our Camp leaders to find out more.”
