YMCA Camp Williams is moving to Becket School

We’d like to share some news as we look towards the next Camp Williams – that we are embarking on a new chapter and relocating to the Becket School.

Our decision to move is underpinned by our commitment to continue offering the fun and memorable experiences our young campers love. Strengthening this decision is the Becket School’s previous association with YMCA, as it generously hosted Camp Williams during the aftermath of the COVID-19 lockdown. Becket School offers a seamless transition, situated just next-door to Emmanuel School and even closer to the Wilford Lane tram stop.

The facilities and central courtyard at Becket are perfect for skills clinics and Camp rallies, with all our popular activities there to enjoy – from mountain biking and skateboarding to music and archery. And, in the summer, we’ll be back on the River Trent for exciting kayaking adventures!

Same Fun, New Home
Jen Openshaw, YMCA Camps Service Manager, “The move marks an exciting chapter for YMCA Camp Williams. Our aim remains to create safe, vibrant, and memorable experiences for every camper. With the support of Becket School and the opportunity to build upon our past successes, we’re excited to bring Camp to this venue. The spirit of adventure and connection will continue to thrive, making each week truly special.”

Paul Greigg, head at Becket School adds: “We’re excited to be hosting YMCA Camp Williams at Becket School, with all the familiar and favourite activities for campers. The energy and enthusiasm of the young people, is something we are looking forward to welcoming in October.”

Mark your calendars for the first YMCA Camp Williams week at the Becket School, during October half term. Places do fill up quickly, so don’t miss out on securing your spot from 23rd October to 3rd November.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Emmanuel School for being our home for many wonderful years.
