On the 21st December, our Digital department will be hosting a Christmas Party in partnership with NGY. The Christmas party will be held at The Maze on Mansfield Road from 12pm – 5pm.
The main event will be a battle of the bands. Entrants must be under 19 years of age and are required to perform at least two original productions, so this is a chance to hear the next generation of music megastars before anyone else!
Ben Felstead, Digital Media Department Coordinator for Nottinghamshire YMCA said:
‘The NGY Christmas party is going to be amazing. Over the last few months we’ve heard up and coming Nottingham artists at our open mic nights at NGY, some of which are entering the battle of the bands, so take it from me, the talent is going to be off the scale!’
The winning artist or band will secure a place alongside top Nottingham artists in a show at the Contemporary in Spring 2014! The winner of the battle of the bands will also receive free studio time in a professional recording studio.
Jack Meldrum, the under 18s champion beat boxer is entering the battle. He said:
‘I am very excited to be apart of the battle, to win would help me push myself to the next level, I am prepared and determined”
The Christmas party will also include other competitions including a biking challenge with the chance to win Forest v QPR tickets, Christmas card making, graffiti art, food and much more!
This is an open event for young people in Nottingham to hear amazing new music, meet other people with similar interests, and celebrate Christmas!
