Inclusive sport for disabled young people with YMCA OnSide!

Onside sports programme at Nottinghamshire YMCA We recently kicked off a new term at OnSide, our community-centric programme featuring sports, skills, competitions and training opportunities for young people with disabilities, based at YMCA youth and community centre in Aspley.

We are working in partnership with Nottingham Forest Football to provide professional coaching to young people who take part in OnSide Tuesday sessions. Young people ages 10-17 can get involved with physical activity, improving mobility, developing confidence, and making new friends along the way.

Sessions take place every Monday and Tuesday from 6:00pm – 7:30pm and cost just £3 to attend.

During school term-time, our trained staff delivers activities focusing on a different sport each session, with an emphasis on developing a range of skills and rules whilst playing games and enjoying fun competitions. At Nottinghamshire YMCA, we believe all young people should have access to physical learning activities, regardless of their background.

That is why we work hard to ensure that children enjoy spending time learning new things. Activities may range from soft archery to basketball and football. Music and soft play are our latest additions to the programme!
