YMCA Day Camps are coming to Newark and Sherwood!

Do you have a skill that you’d love to share, or a fantastic track record of working with young people? If so, why not consider applying to work as a Holiday Camp Leader?
You’ll be part of an elite team of camp staff who will guide campers through an inspirational and safe programme of activities. You will plan, prepare and deliver the progressive programmes. Between 18th February – 22nd February 2019 (with opportunities to take on further holiday periods and opportunities).
Alongside delivering the programme, you’ll have the chance to get involved in a number of other activities. You’ll be assisting with administrative duties, and you’ll have the opportunity to work with the children, parents and carers, as well as help create amazing memories for the children – and you!
An ability to plan and deliver sessions to children of differing abilities and a good understanding of OFSTED policies and procedures are fundamental to the role. You’ll also help support the planning, preparation, and delivery of sports and camp games sessions. Other duties include maintaining registers, accident and incident forms, administration of first aid, and child supervision of travel to and from sessions.
A Paediatric First Aid qualification is essential for this post and you will need to be available for training prior to Camps (dates will be confirmed at interview).
Our ideal candidate has practical experience working with school-aged children, and of coaching sports, arts, music, and outdoor activities. Excellent communication skills are vital to developing strong relations with parents and guardians, school staff and colleagues. Acting as a role model, you’ll foster the development of self-esteem and respect for others.
