    In line with Government guidelines and recommendations we have updated both our terms & conditions and Liability Waiver. Please READ CAREFULLY and then tick the box to agree.

    Access to YMCA gym:
    You must check in every time you visit YMCA gym.
    Members must be 18 years+, or 16 years+ with signed parental consent.
    Memberships are non-transferrable.
    YMCA gym opening hours are published in club and online.
    You must have a YMCA gym 1871 membership to access 1871 sessions, including open gym.
    We reserve the right to refuse entry and to terminate memberships with immediate effect at our discretion.
    We will take a photo of you for identification purposes and to prevent someone else from using your membership in the event that your card is lost or stolen. This picture will not be used for any other purposes without your express permission.


    Using YMCA gym:
    Wear appropriate clothing within the gym. Tops must be worn at all times and no jeans or black marking soles on footwear are permitted. Seek guidance from the YMCA gym team if you are unsure what clothing is appropriate.
    All members must agree to ‘Liability waiver’ which includes questions about your health and information on risk and liability.


    Your property:
    Our employees, agents or sub-contractors will not be liable to you for any loss, damage or theft of any property brought onto YMCA gym premises.

    Membership fees:
    Membership fees paid by monthly instalments are payable on each month from your join date.
    Memberships are set for a predetermined period of time (usually 12 months) and expire only on cancellation.
    Cancellations can be made at any point of the membership with no cancellation fee and the membership will expire at the end of the last month that has been paid for.
    YMCA gym reserves the right to increase membership fees with suitable notice (normally 30 days). This will be communicated via email.
    A cooling off period of 14 calendar days is applicable when purchasing an up-front membership. To cancel the purchased membership, your request must be given in writing within 14 days of the payment clearing.
    You must cancel by contacting YMCA Gym.
    Memberships are continuous but can be suspended (or ‘frozen’) by giving notification before your next payment is due. There is a minimum of one month freeze period and a maximum of six months.
    If you paid upfront for a full year you can still freeze your membership. Your frozen months will be added to the end of your membership period.
    Membership fees are non-refundable.
  • Updated Liability Waiver

    If you are suffering from a new, continuous cough, a high temperature or a loss to your sense of smell or taste you are advised to self isolate and get tested for COVID-19. You should notify the gym if you test positive for COVID-19.
    If you have any doubts about your ability to undertake physical exercise we strongly recommend that you take independent medical advice before exercising.
    Please note you must not use any of our facilities whilst suffering from any contagious infection or illness.
    If you have the following conditions/injuries, please make us aware so that we can update your records and let our instructors know:
    Heart condition or cardiovascular disease (CVD),
    Back, shoulder or knee pain,
    Surgery within the last two years,
    High blood pressure or asthma,
    Under any medication,
    Have any other injuries or health conditions.

    Please keep us up to date with any medical information if your circumstances change.
    It is essential that you also provide us with a name and contact details so in the event of an emergency we can contact your next of kin.


    By joining YMCA gym you:
    Are aware that there are significant risks involved in all aspects of physical training. These risks include but are not limited to;
    – Falls, which can result in serious injury
    – Injury or death due to improper use or failure of equipment
    – Strains and sprains
    Accept full responsibility for the risks you are exposing yourself to and understand that you are responsible for your own insurance in respect of injuries suffered, loss or damage to equipment.
    Understand that YMCA gym do not accept responsibility for any harm accident, injury, illness, loss or misadventure to you whilst using YMCA gym services and equipment unless caused by caused by the wilful default or negligence of our employees, agents, subcontractors or our negligent act or omission.
