Weight Training for Women Course at YMCA Gym

Resistance, or strength, training is a great way to get fit, lean and lose weight. Research has regularly shown there are many benefits of adding weights to your workouts, including but not limited to:

  • Increasing your metabolism
  • Helping with weight management
  • Reducing the risk of health risks such as heart disease, osteoporosis, and diabetes

This 6 week course is the perfect opportunity for beginners to gain knowledge of resistance training, learn techniques to improve their workouts and reach their fitness goals.

Week 1 – Introduction to the gym and resistance machines
Week 2 – Introduction to free weights
Week 3 – Introduction to squat
Week 4 – Introduction to bench
Week 5 – Introduction to deadlift
Week 6 – Full body weights workout
