Job Vacancy
Youth Sport Programme Coordinator
Do you have a background delivering sports activities / programmes within a youth or educational setting? Are you proficiently organised, with the ability to engage young people and vulnerable adults? Do you have what it takes to inspire young people to make positive life choices? We’d love to hear from you.
The Role
Nottinghamshire YMCA delivers sports programmes for disadvantaged young people living in supported accommodation. We strive to develop young people and vulnerable adults, providing them with a safe environment that promotes their personal, social and emotional development by delivering a sports provision that builds strengths and values, develops their commitment to service, and promotes their motivation to learn.
As well as an understanding of safeguarding and related issues, your role will require you to co-ordinate and deliver effective targeted provision aimed at meeting the needs of vulnerable, marginalised, or disaffected young people. You will possess a background of sports delivery and learning outside of a classroom environment, and you will have a clear understanding of the role that youth workers play in breaking down oppression and delivering education in an anti-oppressive manner. You will be adept at co-ordinating programmes, and will be responsible for a budget, monitoring and data collection, and will be able to demonstrate evidence of working with web based online systems.
You will be adept in team leadership and team building and will possess a flexible and adaptable nature coupled with a positive and creative approach. An understanding of KPIs, metrics and trends will be key to this role, as is a background managing budgets and monitoring income.
You will hold an MGB or equivalent sport coaching qualification, and ideally a youth work qualification. You will also be willing to work towards other managerial level qualifications.
At Nottinghamshire YMCA, as well as a pension scheme and a number of benefits, you will also have access to our state-of-the-art gym in the city centre.
We are for social responsibility, youth development and healthy living. Help us make a difference. Apply today.
