Residential Social Care Worker


Due to an exciting expansion programme of our Settled Care provisions, we are recruiting for a number of Residential Social Care Worker roles based in our new children’s homes in Nottinghamshire.

Ofsted regulated, Nottinghamshire YMCA is committed to delivering a homely, professional and caring environment to children and young people in need.

Your role as a Residential Social Care Worker will be to provide care and support to children and young people living in our residential homes.

You will work with the children every day to increase their social skills, education, health and independence, as well as improve that they develop confidence and emotional well-being. You will   ensure that they are safeguarded at all times whilst in your care. You will also plan and join in with activities, attend meetings and undertake practical work such as writing reports, keeping daily records and completing routine health and safety checks.

Our ideal candidate will have the Diploma 3 Health and Social Care qualification, have experience of working in residential care and have an understanding of working in a regulated setting. You must be able to take part in physical activities with the children. A full driving licence is desirable, though not essential. Your written work should be of a good standard and you must be able to follow policies and procedures.

This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (paid for by YMCA) and registration with the DBS Update Service.

Location: Settled care homes in Nottinghamshire
Department: Children’s Residential Care 
Responsible to: Assistant Managers and Registered Managers 
Hours: Full-time: 37.5 Hours per week average (Shift pattern to include days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays, sleep-ins and lone working)
Casual work available
Salary:  £18,000 – £18,500 per annum (pro rata)
