Job Vacancy

Housing Officer

YMCA’s housing provision in Nottingham provides 24-hour support for homeless young people (aged 16-25) living in Nottingham and the surrounding areas. We are recruiting a Housing Officer to join our fantastic team.

The Role
The main purpose of the Housing Officer is to maintain and protect the safety and security of the premises as well as the residents and staff within it.

Housing Officers play a pivotal role in providing a comprehensive service to our residential locations across Nottinghamshire.
We are looking for someone ideally with experience of working in supported housing with vulnerable adults and young people 16-25years old. However, we are also happy and able to give you the training and development to start your career in Housing. You might be working in security or maybe on a reception/concierge desk. You will need to have an understanding of the needs of young people (aged 16 – 25) who may have drug, alcohol and other issues. Regardless of your background, you will be confident to deal with difficult situations and handle conflict appropriately.

This role would suit you if you have experience or a desire to learn skills for social work, youth work, housing, drug and alcohol services, rehabilitation services, sociology, security and much more.

We are looking for someone who can work with minimal supervision, respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, has excellent communication and planning skills and is able to form relationships with appropriate professional boundaries.

This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (paid for by YMCA) and registration with the DBS Update Service.
