Housing Needs Assessor (Mansfield)
Could you help support vulnerable adults on their journey to housing stability? Do you enjoy meeting people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds?
If you are a natural people person who is in their element in a customer facing role – we would love to hear from you!
We are looking for a Housing Needs Assessor to join our Housing Department at the charity’s hostel in Mansfield.
Resilient and confident, you will be helping vulnerable people with their housing applications, be responsible for conducting interviews with applicants and undertaking risk assessments and eligibility checks. Working to specific policies, procedures and best practice guidelines, you will be confident assessing those with a wide range of needs on their suitability to access our accommodation.
A confident communicator, you will enjoy developing positive, professional relationships with those wishing to access the service and our residents. Alongside this, you will be working with other teams to ensure applicants and residents receive the best possible experience.
You will love to problem solve and pride yourself on excellent time management, IT and decision-making skills. Accuracy and a keen eye for detail is essential for everything that you do.
Our ideal candidate will have experience working in the voluntary and community and supported housing sectors. Knowledge of support planning, completing risk assessments and an understanding of national and local priorities within the housing sector would be beneficial. Foremost, you’ll be dedicated to helping homeless applicants and residents to access the support they need.
As is to be expected in this role, you will be dealing with sensitive issues and challenging conversations. At Nottinghamshire YMCA, we offer a variety of tools and services to support the wellbeing of our staff.
We can also offer you training and development opportunities, great workplace benefits and the opportunity to work for an employer who really cares about you.
