Children and Youth Community Outreach Officer (Newark)

 An exciting new job vacancy has arisen located at YMCA’s Community and Activity Village in Newark-on-Trent.

The Role
Do you have a background delivering innovative activities to diverse groups of young people? Are you a dynamic and highly organised individual with proven experience of working in partnership with communities and commercial sectors?

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven Community Outreach Officer based at YMCA Newark and Sherwood Community and Activity Village!

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and resourceful individual who can demonstrate a track record of working with children, young people and families, coupled with a good level of knowledge / understanding of community outreach. You will be responsible for creating user lead programmes and activities.

You will be committed to promoting healthy living, youth development and social responsibility. A good knowledge of Child and Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding is essential, alongside excellent and highly professional communication skills. A recognised youth work qualification, national governing body qualification and coaching qualifications are all highly desirable.

Department: Sport, Health and Wellbeing
Location: YMCA Community and Activity Village, Newark-on-Trent
Hours: 15 hours per week – including days, evenings and weekends as role requires. 1 year contract, funding dependant
Salary: £10.50-11.95 per hour, dependant on experience, plus benefits
