Casual Tenancy Sustainment Officer

We are recruiting for a Casual Tenancy Sustainment Officer to support residents along their journey towards regaining living independence in Nottingham.

About the Role:

As a Tenancy Sustainment Officer you will help residents understand their occupancy agreement and acquire the skills needed to live independently, maintain their rent accounts and provide them with resettlement support. Your input will be invaluable to their progression.

Their Staged Progression structure helps homeless people in Nottinghamshire move back into independent living. Residents move from hostels into Transitional Homes, gradually achieving independence. As a Tenancy Sustainment Officer you will help provide residents with benefit, employment and skills support to help them make sustainable changes to their lifestyles.

About You:

As Tenancy Sustainment Officer you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience of working within supported housing, ideally supporting challenging adults and / or young people
  • Current knowledge of housing issues and legislation particularly relating to homelessness
  • Knowledge of the benefits and welfare system
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling you to relate and engage with residents.
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding and of delivering to a diverse customer base.
  • A passion for the people we serve.

The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check for which we will pay.

Casual Tenancy Sustainment Officer         

Department: Housing
Responsible to: Housing Development Manager
Location: Shakespeare Street Hostel or Mansfield Hostel with some travel to NCVS and Transitional Homes across the City and County when necessary
Hours: On an ad-hoc basis
Salary: £8.36 -£8.91 per hour dependent upon age
