Camp Service Manager

We have a unique and exciting opportunity available for an experienced and fun-loving Camps Service Manager to lead our Children’s Holiday Camp Programme.

The Role
Nottinghamshire YMCA runs Camp Williams every school holiday at Nottingham Emmanuel School (for 8-15-year olds), as well as Newark Camp at Newark Academy (for 8-12-year olds). Both camps offer the ultimate school holiday experience, offering sports, swimming, games and crafts. Our inspirational leaders run a range of skill clinics, so for budding Beethoven’s, fledgling footballers and apprentice archers, our Camps are the place to nurture those talents and dreams.

As the Camps Service Manager, you will be responsible for managing, developing, promoting and delivering camp programmes, including the growth of existing camps, and the development of new ones.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring our Camps maintain Good and above OFSTED ratings, compliant with Early Years Foundation Stage and OFSTED regulations and ensure the Safeguarding of all children and families on our programmes.

Effective communication is key, as you’ll be working with Marketing and PR on promotions, the Business Resources Centre to manage bookings, our Funding team to research new funding streams and build relationships with funders, our HR team to manage and recruit your staff and volunteers, as well as the finance team to keep on top of your budget.

Camp Williams Camp Leader

A confident leader, you’ll be competent in performance management and training, hiring the best leaders for a wide range of programmes as well as being happy to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in with the day to day activities at camp.

Experience of delivering holiday camp or outdoor activities for children is essential, as well as experience of delivering a service, including writing business plans and negotiating contracts amongst other responsibilities.

Qualifications in Childcare/Outdoor Education to Level 3 and Paediatric First Aid (or willing to work towards) are essential for this rewarding role.
