Launch of YMCA Digital's radio broadcast project!
The Youth department at the YMCA is launching an exciting new radio broadcasting project for young people in Nottingham, Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Mansfield. Starting from September, there are now youth sessions four days a week in different places, giving young people the opportunity to learn how to produce radio and express the youth voice of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

They’ll learn how to record, compose jingles, conduct interviews, host a show and ensure everything is slick and up-beat! At the heart of YMCA Digital is the development of social and personal skills through conversation and communication in an inclusive environment. This encourages a diverse group of young people to learn to work with each other and their greater community.

Check out the project's brand new website www.ymcadigital.com where you can see a film of our projects so far, and find out how to get involved!

If you’re age 13-19 and want to join the project, please contact info@ymcadigital.com or phone (0115) 855 3366.

Ready for Work success for residents
Two Nottinghamshire YMCA residents have benefited from the programme, Hazem Albadawi and Alzubair Yousif. They participated in a pre-employment training course and then progressed on to a work placement at the Royal Mail. They have both received certificates for their involvement that were presented by the Sheriff of Nottingham. Ready for Work is a tried and tested partnership of Business in the Community, community organisations and employers.
