Nottinghamshire YMCA is a registered charity and it is a legal requirement for us to undertake an annual audit of our accounts. Our most recent audited accounts can be viewed on the Charity Commission website.
Nottinghamshire YMCA is also a Housing Association and a limited company which means that our annual accounts are inspected by both the Housing Corporation and Companies House.
Our spending and budgets are closely monitored by our Finance Committee which meets on a monthly basis and is led by volunteers from outside the YMCA with financial expertise. In addition, our annual budget and any large expenditure is always approved by our Board of Trustees.
Grant funders also require evidence of financial soundness and our accounts are supplied to them for inspection, together with statistical information containing outcomes from the relevant projects.
In April 2006 we introduced our Sponsor a Child scheme. It costs just £12 per month to support a child in Zambia, providing them with food, clothing and an education. Please follow the link on the right hind side of this page to find out more about getting involved in this worthwhile scheme.
From time to time we hold collections for our overseas projects. For example, in December 2005 we ran an appeal for sports equipment to send to Zimbabwe to support the sports programmes that we helped to establish with the YMCA there. Please continue to visit the international page to stay updated.
Y Care International is the international relief and development agency for the YMCA movement in the UK and Ireland. Please visit the Y Care International website (http://www.ycare.org.uk) to find out more about supporting their work.
