Nottinghamshire YMCA is ultimately governed by the Board of Trustees. All Trustees are Volunteers, which helps us to show that we are dedicated to facilitating a volunteer culture. The Board's central role is to maintain the direction of Nottinghamshire YMCA and to act as an advisory, decision-making and approval body to guide the strategic development of the YMCA and to ensure that we achieve our aims and objectives.
In recent years, the membership of the Board has changed as Trustees' skills have been aligned with the needs of the Association. Current Board members come from a range of professions including accountancy/finance, personnel, management, Christian ministry and local government.
In addition to the Board of Trustees there are Housing, Personnel, Finance, Health and Safety and Programmes Committees that oversee specific areas of work in the Association. Many of our Board members also sit on these Committees.
Relevant reports and other activities which are brought to the attention of these Committees are also taken to the Board for information purposes or ratification of decisions and recommendations.

| Jeff Abbott | Jeff has recently joined the Board of Trustees, bringing considerable financial knowledge and expertise. Jeff is the Chief Accountant at Nottingham City Council. |
| Amanda Allan: Deputy Chair |
As the HR Manager of a local Housing Association Amanda is able to use her expertise to Chair the Housing Committee as well as being Deputy Chair of the Board. |
| John Gillott | John is a local Surveyor for a large national company. He is a member of both the Board and the Housing Committee. |
| Gordon Griffith | Gordon is manager of a local Credit Union training project and is one of our newest Board members. |
| Sir Harold Haywood | KCVO, OBE, DL – Sir Harold is our Patron. |
| Jacky Holmes: Chair |
Jacky has a great deal of experience in Personnel and Human Resources and runs her own training and consultancy business. Jacky was elected Chair in September 2007. |
| Philippa Knight | Philippa has recently joined the Board of Trustees. Philippa works as a pharmacist in Nottingham. |
| Thobekile Mahlangu | Thobe has experience in finance both in the UK and from working with organisations in Zimbabwe. She is also involved in the Finance Committee. |
| Geoff Rockley: President |
Geoff is a retired Solicitor who sits on both the Board and the Finance Committee. He is also involved in the Central Region Trust Fund. Geoff has been involved in Nottinghamshire YMCA for fifty years. |
| Cleveland Thompson | Cleveland is one of our newest Board members and has a great deal of experience working with young people. He is currently Team Manager of the Nottingham Youth Offending Team at Nottingham City Council. |
| Nicola Windley | As a Personnel Officer for a local authority Nicola brings HR expertise to our Board of Trustees. |
