Heather's Paradiddle Page
Around the time of this magical books creation, there spread roumour of an mysterious wayfaring gentleman who thought himself worthy of the jackpot on the 1912 pilot episode of Who Wants To Be A Ye Olde Millionaire. However... but a question shy of 15 awaited a thorn in said fellows side...
"What is a Paradiddle?"
Needless to say this very page had not yet been counjoured and it's paradiddlous education was unknown to general society. Alas, he went home with not a penny - as back then people were horrible ruthless fiends who had not included any guaranteed prizes at questions 5 or 10. Nor did he get to meet Mr Chris Tarrant who was only 4 years old at the time.
The Paradiddle
In percussion, a diddle consists of two consecutive notes played by the same hand - either RR or LL.
The paradiddle is a rudiment consisting of a four-note pattern of the form RLRR or LRLL. When multiple paradiddles are played in succession, the first note always alternates between right and left. |
