Departments: Health & Fitness Our aim within the Health and Fitness department is to increase levels of physical activity and wellbeing to all members of the local community. We offer a wide range of affordable, inclusive programs which are delivered by highly trained and friendly staff through out the county.
Our Physical Activity Advisors will offer you friendly and confidential one-to-one sessions and listen to you. You will have the opportunity to talk openly about what's important to you, what concerns you and what you would like to achieve. They will work at your own pace, inform you of the opportunities available and help you take the steps for your goals to become reality. They will also meet you in your doctor’s surgery or a community venue close to where you live. This will offer you the right support and a chance to explore how you might be feeling about physical activity as well as any other concerns you may have. If and when you feel you are ready, we will explore the options available and work to ensure that you are happy and comfortable in whichever way you choose to increase your activity levels, and benefit your health. Exercise Referral Instructors will assist you with their expertise and support. They are experts in ensuring you appropriately and gradually increase your activity levels and that you feel comfortable in the activity you choose. They run over 50 excellent community classes throughout the city and have access to all City Leisure Service gyms. You can also enjoy access to All Saints Fitness Centre, a quiet, supportive place for those people who perhaps do not feel used to using busy gyms and prefer a relaxed, comfortable environment in which to increase their activity levels. This facility is open to all and regular classes include Cardiac Rehab, COPD, over 50's Fit Club and Women's Only sessions.
