Departments: Creative Arts & Digital Media

YMCA Digital is a youth work department of the Nottinghamshire YMCA. We specialise in delivering creative arts and digital media provision to disadvantaged to young people in both the City and the County. We pride ourselves on offering unique and innovate programmes to young people from all ages and backgrounds. Our main aim is to use informal education as a tool to help teach young people new skills as well as valuable life skills.

We utilise the creative arts and digital media to bring together young people who are at risk from exclusion in schools. All of our youth work is based around progressive learning and our goal is to empower young people to critically analyse the perceptions of themselves, and create a platform to debate and facilitate their viewpoints and real positive change.

  • Dispelling social stereotypes and encourages community cohesion through their creative expression
  • Fosters conversation through intergenerational groups and through socio-economic boundaries in their community
  • Uniquely providing young people with state-of-the-art mobile equipment at their location, the work we do encourages teambuilding, communication, and hard skills in media technology
