Dear Parents & Guardians
Hello, and welcome to Nottinghamshire YMCA’s Summer Day Camp Programme Guide. The YMCA has been providing quality day and residential holiday camping experiences for children around the world since 1891. New to this summer’s programme is our themed specialty weeks including Adventure Camp, featuring archery, rock climbing, kayaking and outdoor pursuits, Sports Camp featuring athletics, soccer and cricket and Digital Camp featuring radio broadcasting and music programmes, just to name a few of our exciting additions.
I am delighted to announce our second edition of YMCA Day Camps brochure for summer 2010. This is due to the generosity of One Nottingham, which has contributed funding to support 290 free week-long places until February 2011. These free spaces are available to children who reside in the following communities:
- Bulwell
- Bulwell Forest
- Bestwood
- Basford
|
- Aspley
- Leen Valley
- Arboretum
- Berridge
|
- Radford & Park
- St Anns
- Sherwood
- Mapperley
|
- Wollaton East
- Lenton Valley
- Wollaton West
- Clifton North & South
|
There are 50 free spaces available each week of the summer camp and they will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. All you have to do is fill out the booking form at the back of the brochure or call 0115 855 3318 to book your child into camp using the free camp places.
If your child resides outside the communities listed above, I am pleased to be able to offer a bursary rate to help support families with significant financial constraints. Unfortunately this funding is limited and is raised every year through generous financial contributions to the YMCA. To apply for the bursary rate please contact us directly on 0115 855 3315.
I am very proud to be part of a charity that has been doing great community-based work in Nottinghamshire for over 139 years. Our goal is that all children and young people across Nottinghamshire from 5-19 years old can access YMCA Holiday Camps and we can not only develop children with skills, character, confidence and friendship, but we can help keep families healthy and build thriving communities.
I am very excited to see all of the children at our Day Camp programme in the summer, it truly is a place where character counts.
