YMCA Day Camps at Rushcliffe & Eastwood

We are proud to build on our hugely popular Traditional Camp at Ofsted Registered Rushcliffe Leisure Centre by continuing Active Camp at Eastwood.

Active Camp includes diverse and fun activities such as Judo, Trampolining, Ultimate Frisbee and everyone's favourite games such as Dodgeball and Danish Longball. These activities are tailored for children of all ages to enjoy and give a go! Active Camp is run from 8.30am-3.30pm and are a very intense active day, lots of energy is needed and you're child will be super tired after this camp! Have a look through the brochure for more details on Active Camp and a full breakdown of activities. Don't forget to look at Traditional Camp, running from 8.30am-5.30pm, it has all of your favourite games including Swimming everyday.

All children receive a pack of Top Trumps and a YMCA Day Camps certificate for attending our camp and they may win one of our four core values rosettes if they show actions of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility or if they show all four, they may win our Sportsmanship Award! Places for this camp are very popular - so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Camp overnight with your family at Thornbridge Outdoor Centre in the beautiful Peak District and learn how to enjoy the great outdoors, whilst exploring your natural environment.

Age Groups

Groups will be organised according to age and activities. Children will have the opportunity to try lots of activities which are all centred around fun! They will learn new skills, develop self-confidence, make new friends and best of all have a blast during the holidays!

Kids Zone 5-7 Years
Perfect for the nippers, full of play and discovery through our fantastic theme days, including arts & crafts, team games with chants & challenges throughout.
  Explorer Zone 8-10 Years
Bring out the explorer inside, with numerous challenges and competitions. Children will learn the value of sportsmanship through our competitive team games.
  Elite Zone 11-14 Years
Become the role model at camp, taking part in competitive activities that focus more on the technical & strategic aspects of each game.

Eastwood Community Sports Centre

With it's large sports hall our Eastwood site can cater for netball, volleyball, badminton, judo, trampolining, 5 a-side football, indoor athletics, cricket and basketball hoops. The centre includes an activity room with wall bars and ropes.

Goodies & Awards

During each day spot prizes are given for achievements such as shot of the day and fair play. Awards are presented for special achievements such as 100% effort and children who represent any of our core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.

Everyone attending YMCA Day Camps receives a camp certificate and a pack of Top Trumps, kindly donated by London games company, Winning Moves UK Ltd.

Terms & Conditions

  • All children who have completed their first school year are eligible for YMCA Day Camps.
  • Payment must be made in full by Cheque, Postal Order, Debit, Credit Card or Childcare Vouchers on or before Friday 1st June 2012, 4PM.
  • A minimum of £10 deposit is required per child to reserve a place for camp.
  • Emergency contact name and number must be provided. If this information is not given your child will not be able to take part.
  • All children are required to provide their own lunch, snack, drink, athletic footwear and swim kit.
  • For Traditional Camp children MUST be dropped off between 8:30am and 9:30am and be picked up between 4.30pm and 5.30pm and MUST be signed in and out.
  • If you are going to be late please ring 07786 919 305 immediately so that arrangements can be made. Failure to do so will result in a late collection fine of £5 followed by £5 every 10 minutes thereafter.
 

 

  • Amendments to bookings, including cancellation, will incur the following charges...
    a)...2 or more weeks prior to the first day of camp - £5 charge per child
    b)...Less than 2 weeks prior to the first day of camp - £10 charge per child
  • Minimum of 30 children enrolled per week for traditional camp to run.
  • For Active Camp, drop off time is 8.30-9am and pick up is 3 - 3.30pm.
  • Late collection runs in tandem with Traditional Camp.
  • Active Camp needs a minimum of 20 campers to run.
  • No booking is final until you receive your booking confirmation letter and code.

FAQ

How do I book?

For Holiday Camps simply complete the booking form (available to the right or from our Holiday Camp Brochure) and post it to the address shown. Additionally, you may also book by telephoning 0115 711 7006 or e-mailing the form to ymcadaycamps@nottsymca.org.

How do I communicate with YMCA staff on site?

07786 919 305 - Our camp mobile phone is always on site during camp.

We encourage parents and staff to communicate as we believe it helps the children to have the best experience possible. Our staff will let you know about your child's successes and any problems. We would appreciate it if you are able to let us know if there is anything upsetting your child so we can better meet their needs and help with interaction with others. We will keep personal information confidential.

What if my child is ill or absent?

Please call 0115 711 7006 or e-mail ymcadaycamps@nottsymca.org by 8.30am to notify us. For your child's safety and to protect other children, please do not send your child if he/she is ill.

In the event of a medical emergency, we will make every effort to contact Parents/Guardians before arranging medical treatment. If this is not possible we will inform you at the earliest possible time afterwards.

Because we have planned activities and staffing, we are not able to provide refunds for missed days. A credit note may be given if absence is due to an illness or injury when a doctor's note is provided.

What are the drop off and pick-up times?

Drop-off times are between 8:30am and 9:30am, pick-up times are between 4:30pm and 5:30pm. Your child must be collected by the latest published time. Failure to do so will result in a late collection fine of £2.00 per 15 minutes thereafter.

 

 

 

How do I sign my child in or out?

For your child's safety, an authorised adult must sign your child in and out of camp each day.

What should children bring with them?

All children should come dressed for fun! No open-toed sandals or heels please!

NB Nottinghamshire YMCA does not accept responsibility for personal possessions. Parents should ensure items are adequately labelled and covered by insurance.

What happens if a Holiday Camp is cancelled?

In the very unlikely event that a programme is cancelled due to staff illness or particularly inclement weather, children will be issued with a voucher for a future camp.

A note on inclusion*

Our programmes are designed to be inclusive and children with special needs are welcome. Participants will receive additional support when possible. To find out if this programme is right for your child please contact Children's Services on 0115 711 7006.
