Nottinghamshire YMCA is often thought of as either just a gym, or just a hostel. However, nothing could be further from the truth!
While it is true that both the above activities take place at our Shakespeare Street site (a 78 bed accommodation centre, and a health & fitness club which is second to none), we also have other activities and programmes taking place across all our sites.

| At Nottinghamshire YMCA we have a long experience in running exciting Holiday Activities for children in the City and County. Activities take place during Half Terms as well as the Summer, Easter and Christmas holidays. During 2006/07 over 3,500 children took part in our Holiday camps programme! | Our programmes are as diverse as the clients who make use of and take part in them. Some of the programmes and projects currently on offer are (click the activity for more details): Sports Courses for Kids, School Pastoral Project, PPA Cover in Schools (Planning, Preparation and Assessment Government Initiative), Street Dreams Inc. (Entrepreneurial Programme focusing on music), Clothes making, SWEL Club (Seniors With Energetic Lifestyles), GEM Project (training and arranging training for skills in life and the workplace (see Housing)), Christian and Spiritual Development, and many more! These take place across all our sites, and mean that we are able to serve our mission and vision of 'changing people's lives' in the communities in which we serve. | |
